Ich bin Haymo Empl – und ich bin der Schweizer im deutschen Teleshopping.
Seit über 30 Jahren stehe ich vor der Kamera. Täglich. Live. In Deutschland und der Schweiz. Bei ShopLC Deutschland und auf den CH-Media-Kanälen moderiere ich mehrstündige Live-Shows – und ich tue das nicht nur als Moderator, sondern je nach Produkt auch als ausgewiesener Experte: für Nahrungsergänzung, Schmuck, Edelmetalle und Lifestyle. Ich erkläre Produkte so, dass Zuschauer nicht nur verstehen, was sie kaufen, sondern warum sie es wollen.
Mein Weg ins Teleshopping war lang – und genau deshalb bin ich dort, wo ich bin. Ich begann als Redaktor und Moderator bei Radio Z, wechselte zu Tele Züri, war bei Tele24 auf Sendung, moderierte bei 3plus und bei Star TV Filmsendungen wie «DVD News» und «Movie News» sowie Sportsendungen. Dazwischen schrieb ich als Journalist für den Tages-Anzeiger, den Blick, die Sonntagszeitung, die WOZ und weitere Titel. Und ich schrieb Romane. Mein Debüt «Milzbrand» wurde zum Bestseller in der Schweiz, Deutschland und Österreich. Seither bin ich Bestsellerautor, denn (fast) jeder meiner Romane war mindestens in den Top 10.
Teleshopping ist für mich kein Verkaufsformat – es ist das direkteste Spiegelbild unserer Gesellschaft. Wer täglich live mit Hunderttausenden Menschen über Gesundheit, Schönheit, Werterhalt und das gute Leben spricht, betreibt angewandte Kulturanalyse. Genau das tue ich. Mit einem Abschluss in Kulturwissenschaften, Schwerpunkt Popkultur, Gesellschaft und Geschichte, sehe ich Trends früh – und erkläre sie überzeugend.
Sport ist dabei kein Randthema, sondern ein roter Faden. Fitness, Bewegung und Gesundheit beschäftigen mich nicht nur vor der Kamera, sondern auch dahinter: Als Redaktor schreibe ich unter anderem für die bedeutende Publikation des Schweizer Fitness- und Gesundheitscenter Verbands SFGV – das Publikumsmagazin «Gesund und Fit». Wer über Nahrungsergänzung und Wellness auf Sendung geht, sollte wissen, wovon er spricht. Ich weiss es.
Zürich ist meine Basis. Auf Sendung bin ich in München, Düsseldorf – und ja, auch live aus Indien.

I'm Haymo Empl – and I'm the Swiss guy in German teleshopping.
For over 30 years, I've been in front of the camera. Every day. Live. In Germany and Switzerland. At ShopLC Germany and on the CH Media channels, I host multi-hour live shows – and I do this not only as a presenter, but also as a recognized expert, depending on the product: for nutritional supplements, jewelry, precious metals, and lifestyle. I explain products in a way that helps viewers understand not only what they're buying, but also why they want it.
My path to teleshopping was a long one – and that's precisely why I'm where I am today. I started as an editor and presenter at Radio Z, moved to Tele Züri, worked on Tele24, and presented film programs like "DVD News" and "Movie News," as well as sports programs, on 3plus and Star TV. In between, I worked as a journalist for the Tages-Anzeiger, Blick, Sonntagszeitung, WOZ, and other publications. And I wrote novels. My debut, "Anthracite," became a bestseller in Switzerland, Germany, and Austria. Since then, I've been a bestselling author, as (almost) every one of my novels has reached at least the top 10.
For me, teleshopping isn't just a sales format—it's the most direct reflection of our society. Anyone who speaks live with hundreds of thousands of people daily about health, beauty, self-care, and the good life is engaging in applied cultural analysis. That's precisely what I do. With a degree in cultural studies, specializing in pop culture, society, and history, I recognize trends early—and explain them convincingly.
Sport isn't a peripheral topic, but a central theme. Fitness, exercise, and health are important to me not only in front of the camera, but also behind it: As an editor, I write, among other things, for the important publication of the Swiss Fitness and Health Center Association (SFGV)—the popular magazine "Healthy and Fit." Anyone who broadcasts about nutritional supplements and wellness should know what they're talking about. I do.
Zurich is my home base. I broadcast from Munich, Düsseldorf – and yes, also live from India.
